July 26, IFIF public relation- – Minister of Communication and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi in a meeting with Astrakhan Governor General Alexander Zhilkin discussed cooperation in the fields of economy, banking, finance and trade.

Moreover they undertook cooperation in the fields of tourism, launching cruise ship, increasing the flights, opening Iranian bank branch in Astrakhan and Iranian shopping mall in the city.

Zhilikin said that more than 200 Iranian companies are active in Astrakhan and the province turn to be a hub for Iranian trade activities in Southern Russia. `We welcome Iranian, because they are useful for both countries.`, he added.

According to the 2012 census, Iran has the share of 39 percent of foreign trade of Astrakhan.

During the meeting to Russia, Vaezi also discussed expansion of bilateral ties and free trade with Trade Minister of Eurasia Economic Union Veronica Nikishina.

Eurasia consists of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia and is a good market for Iran`s export.
